Long grey hair untended and back crooked, a street piano performer was playing music on a rented electrical piano in the city of Melbourne. Such is the striking scene seen in a video clip which has gone viral recently on social media worldwide. It was said that the performer was an 82 year old lady ,who was talented in music but currently homeless and in poor health. Had she been in a more youthful age, people would not have shed tears on her story ,for many deem ageing as a pitiable situation where elderly individuals are most vulnerable to hardship of life due to decline in well-being and social and economic status. Contrast to this, others are looking forward for their life after retirement, so-called “ golden years”.
